Frequently Asked Questions
Within four weeks after your wedding or two weeks after your engagement session.
Contact me to make sure I’m available for your date, then we’ll schedule a call to make sure we’re a good fit. If you’re ready to book after that, you pay a 50% retainer and sign a contract, and I’m officially your photographer.
I like to think of my wedding work as storytelling. I want to take your moments, emotions, and details and capture them creatively and honestly. When I present your photos to you, my hope is that they represent your day exactly how you remember it. I don’t do fancy edits, I deliver images that are colorful and bold, but also natural and clean.
There are a lot of factors that determine the final number of photos you will receive. If I have a second photographer and we are in one location, I typically deliver 100 photos per hour of shooting.
I usually arrive two hours before the ceremony to capture getting ready photos and any detail shots. If you choose to do a first look, the “formal” bride and groom, immediate family, and bridal party portraits typically take place before the ceremony as well. Extended family portraits usually take place immediately following the ceremony. Apart from formal portrait time, I prefer to let the events of your day happen organically without a whole lot of direction so I can capture them in a documentary style. I also love helping clients create a timeline that is realistic and comfortable.
Engagement sessions are a great way for me to see how you act together in front of the camera and also for you to get used to my posing and direction. This is also a fun time for us to get to know each other better, often ending in a drink or a coffee and an opportunity to chat more about your wedding.
I recommend hiring a second photographer if you plan to have more than 100 guests. I typically have the 2nd arrive for the getting ready photos and stay through the first dances.
Albums can be added to your quote as part of your package, or after (hint: albums are discounted when added to your package in advance). Prints, framed art, and thank you cards can be ordered through your gallery once it is delivered.
Totally! Please contact me so we can chat about your plans and I can create the perfect quote for your wedding or engagement.
Absolutely! I also hold open space permits for Boulder County, Jefferson County and Rocky Mountain National Park (if you plan to elope in the park you’ll need a separate permit).
I believe every wedding is a unique and wild adventure…
I want to make sure I’m the right fit for you and the best way to do this is to spend 30 minutes talking about everything you have dreamed up for your day. No pressure here, just a chance to learn more about what I do and how the process works.
